Stigma

Straight up. I want to explain the Rehab Stigma. What thoughts come to mind when I say the word Rehabilitation or Physical Therapy a staple in my well being philosophy. The Rehab Stigma is similar to and associated the Stigma of death. Rehab hurts. Physical Therapy is at times counter intuitive similar to the exercise energy paradox. Just as you must achieve Maximum Fatigue to grow strength, endurance and energy you must endure pain to improve functionality and increase tolerance.  Let me step back and explain how I break down exercise in four ways: endurance , strength, balance and flexibility.

LOVE is the answer

Learn all you can about your conditions  Laugh a lot. even tho it isn’t funny Own everything that happens to you. When you own something you can do with it whatever you want. Value your quality of life Evolve to survive. Adapt to change. Explore new ways, treatments and ideas End game plan - start with the end in mind.   Energy plan

Stigma

i think this is going to get done. wrote an intro now just have to write it. i suffer many Stigmas. I have started my book with the Stigma of death. Elephant in the room when it comes to Stigmas. we all know we are going to die someday, but knowing is not being prepared to face your possible demise when the time comes.  Death Stigmas come in many forms. When you come close to death everyone treats you differently. Some people avoid you. when you are dying you cary yourself differently. when you grieve your own upcoming death it is hard not to feel sorry for yourself. No one cares about you more than you.

getting naked

If you are to grow and live and thrive in spite of your chronic health conditions you must get naked with your vulnerabilities.   If you wish to move forward you must humble yourself and acknowledge the fact that you are not in control. And that’s OK. So much of life is beyond our control. Knowing this is the first step in a long walk to authentic freedom. Recognizing what I like to call God’s Will is a way to center yourself in the present moment, free yourself from the anxiety and worry for tomorrow and suffering the guilt and shame of the past. God’s Will. I once heard that to find happiness you must abide by God’s Will. It wasn’t until I started praying for the strength and wisdom to know and abide by God’s Will that truth actually started to set me free.  What is God’s Will? How can we know God’s Will if we cannot grasp the concept of an all-knowing, all-powerful creator of the Universe. This brings us to step two of our critical walk of self discovery. Acknowledging that...

chronic severe obstructive sleep apnea

I go two weeks without my cpap machine and i little feel death taking over. my insurance my doctor all want another sleep study - I just called CPAP .com and ordered a new one. i’ve been back on it for two weeks now and my sanity has returned with it.

chronic pain

There is a Stigma attached for those with chronic pain.  i have chronic pain. And that is ok.  Lower back pain and hip pain, knee pain, foot pain wrist pain shoulder pain and headaches. Angilosing Spinalitis, disc compression, arthritis tendonitus, carpl tunnel, cartledge removed, staff infection, concisions from sports,  I have learned in this lifetime you will have pain. it is beyond your control these injuries and illnesses that have me in pain for the rest of my life. i get naked with my vulnerabilities and me having to live with pain is a challage. I believe while you are deep in pain level 10 the challage is focus on treatment and acceptance of the new reality, The thing with pain is that it hurts. Once we accept the pain for what it is we allow ourseleves the freedom to choose our response. How we respond is the blessing in the challenge. i believe challenges are indeed the blessing itself.  Without the tragic death of his parents there would be no Batman. iId...
